At 1215, we are constantly being asked, “What’s the best cheap wine?” You can see where we might struggle with this question: Do you mean cheap, as in not the best? Do you mean cheap, just as in inexpensive? What are you really looking to get out of a bottle of wine?
We believe there are excellent wines that range in price from $15 to $1000. And we take special pleasure in finding the $20 bottle of wine that tastes every bit as good or better than a $50 or $100 bottle. To us, that is a great value. At the same time, we think it’s pretty hard to find a quality bottle of wine under $10; the principles & practices we care about in our wine are just not able to be produced in the ways that make wine prices that low.
But we have some great tips and tricks for finding value wines - bottles that hit that sweet spot of well made, delicious and very affordable.
